Renovated interior

Since the 1970’s, the Pizza Hut in New Martinsville has been a staple of the community. A place for young and old to enjoy pizza and Italian food in a clean and comfortable atmosphere.

Over time the restaurant has undergone a few changes to its interior and a new paint job, plus several changes to its menu, while still keeping its prices affordable. New Martinsville Pizza Hut is one of 27 stores in the chain of SugarCreek stores based out of Freeland, Ohio.

Recently the local eatery has seen its first complete renovation to the interior eating area. The renovations started on August 23, and were completed on October 1, of this year. General Manager of the restaurant Shelby Flint a New Martinsville native and 2017 graduate of Magnolia high school said the renovations were needed because the last time anything had been done to the eating area of the store was in the 1990’s.

She explained with the recent overhaul, all of the interior basically was changed to better suit the needs of the customer and to make it more appealing and inviting for all who want to enjoy a good meal and time together.

“The interior received all new carpeting, fresh paint to brighten up the old dark trim, a new ceiling with new lighting, plus some high top tables. New booths and a high top long table which seats 10 people. All new decor has been added to the walls and the whole interior arrangement has been designed with the customers in mind,” said Flint.

According to the General Manager, the kitchen area has undergone a deep cleaning and the everyday operation is focused on the health and safety of the customers as well as the employees. She said hand sanitizer stations are in the store for customer use. She added that employees, in particular waiters and waitresses, are required to wear gloves when cleaning up tables and to wash or sanitize their hands before and after serving customers.

“We are big on safety in the restaurant and the kitchen, our number one goal is to provide a positive dining experience for our customers,” said Flint. “We feel we have a price competitive menu, which gives families a chance to eat out together at a price they can afford. We have a family pizza special for under $25.”

Flint went on to say the exterior of the building is also getting some improvements and has received a new roof and some painting. They are currently putting the finishing touches on it, which will include adding stone to the siding under the windows.

She said she wants to invite everyone to come and experience a clean and healthy environment and a good meal at the New Martinsville restaurant.

One of the things one will find missing from the new menu will be the salad bar and salads. Also gone are the desert pizza’s. However the menu now is based more on making great pizza’s, fantastic wings, everyone’s favorite breadsticks, Pepsi products, Lipton ice tea, orange crush, and ice cold beer.

The store held it’s official grand re-opening on October 19, with several in store specials. Flint said they are now hiring for all positions, especially drivers. She added they have a great benefit package and she invites prospective employees to apply online.
