Southern Raised to Appear at Paden City Church of the Nazarene

Pastor Patrick McGee is excited to announce nationally known bluegrass Christian band Southern Raised be in concert at Pa den City Church of the Nazarene on August 28 at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Patrick would like to invite everyone to worship come and worship. There is no charge, a love offering will be taken for the funding of the concert.

Southern Raised-Committed to the Lord, each other and bringing their music to the people” There is a warmth and realness about them that draws you in, making them one of the best, most unique sounds on the scene. They have the distinct ability to cross genres, winning the hearts of all who hear them. When asked their heart behind the music, Southern Raised says, “Jesus is the reason we sing, the passion that burns, the cause we carry and the One we love! We thank Him for allowing us the honor to share His message with the world!”

Members of Southern Raised are: Lindsay began her musical journey at the age of 10 on piano and continued until 12 when she added the violin to her musical training. She always had a love for poetry and writing throughout her younger years and school days, which translated into song writing later down the road. She now is the primary lyricist for the band and has been honored to co-write with some of the industries premier writers. She was nominated 2013 & 2014 PG Midwest Songwriter of the Year. Her passion for the Bass earned her the award of 2013 & Nominated 2014 PG Midwest Bass Fiddle Performer of the Year.

Emily has had a blossoming passion for music from the young age of 5, at which time she began piano lessons , which were followed the next year by violin. The violin was the instrument of her dreams and she quickly began pouring herself into her lessons and practice at this young age. She now is proficient on multiple instruments and has had the honor of multiple nominations in her field, including-Nominated 2012, 2013, 2014 fiddle performer of the year PG MIDWEST, Nominated 2013, 2014 mandolin performer of the year PG, MIDWEST Nominated 2013, 2014 female vocalist of the year (traditional) PG MIDWEST. Emily is the primary lead vocalist for Southern Raised and helps lead a lot of the creativity and arrangements alongside brother and guitar player, Matthew.

Matt first dabbled in music at the age of 7 when he began learning the cello. Matthew excelled in his private lessons and at 10 began guitar. He has pursued his instrumental and vocal abilities over more than a decade and earned the following nominations-

Nominated 2 time top 4 guitarist in the Midwest PG. Matthew also has an interest in the field of ideography and directing. This has earned him an award and he is the talent behind most Southern Raised video productions. Matthew is a multi instrumentalist, but primarily plays guitar and sings harmony and lead vocals for Southern Raised.

Alex has taught banjo lessons and been part of multiple Southwest Missouri bands and previously placed in a band competition at Silver Dollar City in Bran son, MO.

Alex joined Southern Raised at the beginning of 2020 and has been a phenomenal addition and brings an amazing passion and creative talent to the band. He is a multi instrumentalist, but primarily plays banjo and do bro for the group.

South Raised is a group of award winning kinfolk, trained in classical music but raised in the bluegrass soaked Ozark Mountains. They have created a Southern Raised trademark sound where classical meets bluegrass and city streets meets country roads.

SR has morphed a progressive sound that spans Christian Country/ Bluegrass, Celtic and Classical. They’re talented, they’re energetic, they’re Southern Raised. You will hear Beethoven’s the like never B 4, as the two genres become one at the hand of Southern Raised and when the siblings croon a ballad, it is nothing short of breathtaking. Be prepared to expect the unexpected as classical meets bluegrass and new life is breathed into the music and your soul. Collectively they have received nominations from Singing News Fan Awards, Diamond Awards, Front Porch Fellowship and a staggering 32 SPBGMA Midwest nominations, Bass Performer of the Year, nominated 4- time Fiddle Performer of the Year, Band of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Christian Country Album of the Year, to name a few. SRB has been featured on RFD TV’s Larry’s Country Diner, Gospel Music Showcase hosted by Guy Penrod, RFD TV’s Music City Show and many more.
