Dally Library Hosts Events All Summer
The Dally Library, located in the charming little town of Sardis, Ohio, is providing local families with entertainment all summer long.
The Summer Reading Program, held every Wednesday at 10 A.M. during the month of July, provides children with the opportunity to listen to stories, make crafts and eat snacks. This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales.”
They also offer a Little Free Library along the scenic Hannibal Walking Trail, providing free reading for all ages; their goal is to improve access to books and increase literacy rates in the community. Take a walk along the trail before finding a nice spot to relax and read a book, and enjoy being surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Another exciting event was a second musical performance held at the Sardis Community Center on Saturday, July 17.
The Mountain State Bluegrass Express will take the stage from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and admission is free; ham, chicken and noodles, scalloped potatoes, green beans, rolls, desserts, and drinks will be available for purchase.
The Mountain State Bluegrass Express has been providing entertainment for 50 years. Their current band members include Ed Hildebrand on fiddle, Brenda Strahler on guitar and vocals, Kevin Eddy on bass and vocals and Al Spencer on banjo and vocals.
The last music event is scheduled for Saturday, August 14 from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M., with a performance by the Shortline Junction, again with food available for purchase.
In addition to the last music event, there will also be a quilt raffle that day.
Tickets are available for purchase at the library and music events; they are also available at the Citizen’s National Bank in Sardis, where the quilt is on display.
The quilt was beautifully crafted and donated by Dale Ruble of Lewisville, Ohio.
The tickets are one for $1 or six for $5. All proceeds to benefit the privately funded Dally Memorial Library.
