The Ohio River Valley Short Film Festival Results
The very first Ohio River Valley Short Film Festival was a success, with a total of 17 films entered, including films from Pennsylvania, California, and even Australia. Festival Director Dave Shelton gave a special thanks to all of the festival’s sponsors, including Al-Rec LLC, King’s Corner, the Olive Branch, and to the Paden City Library for Hosting.
Beginning with third place, here are the winners of the first film fest: Third place Comedy, Strange Valley Ghost Busters; Third place Drama, Lady A; Third place Sci-fi, The Reckoning; Second place comedy, Eight Daves a Week; Second place Drama, The Last Paperboy; Second place Sci-fi, Next Day’s News; Second place Horror, 340 Feet Down; Best Comedy, Heroes’ Honeymoon; Best Drama, Enough; Best Sci-fi, Meanwhile, at the Abandoned Factory; Best Documentary, Not a Criminal; Best Director, Jesse Hutchins for Done Waiting; Best Cinemetographer, Alex Mannis for The Reckoning.
The Ohio River Valley Short Film Festival gives small-town filmmakers the chance to showcase their films locally, as well as make connections in the industry. Shelton plans for another festival next year, with hopes for an even bigger turn out.
