Sheriff Koontz Hires Litter Control, Humane Officer

Through a collaborative effort between the Wetzel County Sheriff’s Office, the Wetzel County Solid Waste Authority and the Wetzel County Animal Shelter has brought to a full-time liter control/humane officer for the citizens of Wetzel County.

Twenty-five-year law enforcement officer Deputy David Howell will be responsible for enforcing WV laws as they pertain to liter control and animal abuse and neglect as he transitions into this position.

With the support of Wetzel County Commission and Wetzel County Prosecutor, it is Sheriff Koontz’s goal to better serve the citizens of Wetzel County with regards to concerns of the liter control laws and animal abuse & neglect.
