Wetzel County, State Election Results

Sixty Five perecnt of registered voters cast ballots in Wetzel County for the November 3, 2020 general election. Of those voting 3,984 came to the voting booth on election day, while 1,716 voted early and 981 voted absentee. There are 10,215 registered voters in the county and 6,681 voted. With only two contessted elections in the county Carla McBee came out the winner for county commissioner defeating Allen Rush 3,546 votes to 2,463.

For President of the United States:

Republican: Donald J. Trump received 4,933 votes, with 3,299 coming on election day, 1,222 by early voting, and 412 voted by absentee.

Democrat: Joseph R. Biden received 1,529 votes, with 561 coming on election day, 440 by early voting, and 528 by absentee.

LBN: Jo Jorgensen received 102 votes, with 69 coming on election day, 19 by early voting, and 14 by absentee.

MTN: Howie Hawkins received 32 votes, with 18 coming on election day, 7 by early voting, and 7 by absentee.

Write-In totals: 8 received, 2 on election day, 3 early, and 3 by absentee.

For U.S. Senator:

Republican: Shelly Moore Capito received 4,758 votes, with 3,057 coming on election day, 1,210 by early voting, and 491 by absentee.

Democrat: Paula Jean Swearengin received 1,429 votes, with 580 coming on election day, 396 by early voting, and 453 by absentee.

LBN: David Moran received 235 votes, with 157 coming on election day, 60 by early voting, and 18 by absentee.

Write-In totals: 3, 1 on election day, 1 by early voting, and 1 by absentee.

For U.S. House of Representatives 1st District:

Republican: David B. McKinley received 4,588 votes, with 2,973 coming on election day, 1,164 by early voting, and 451 by absentee.

Democrat: Natilie Cline received 1,753 votes, with 727 coming on election day, 480 by early voting, and 506 by absentee.

Write-In Totals: 3, 2 on election day, and 1 by early voting.

For Governor:

Republican: Jim Justice received 4,407 votes, with 2,937 coming on election day, 1,138 by early voting, and 432 by absentee.

Democrat: Ben Salango received 1,713 votes, with 727 coming on election day, 480 by early voting, and 506 by absentee.

LBN: Erika Kolenich received 178 votes, with 120 coming on election day, 41 by early voting, and 17 by absentee.

MTN: Daniel P. “Danny” Lutz Jr. received 87 votes, with 56 coming on election day, 19 by early voting, and 12 by absentee.

Write-In totals: 45, 32 coming on election day, 12 by early voting, and 1 by absentee.

For Secretary of State:

Republican: Mac Warner received 3,461 votes, with 2,271 coming on election day, 878 by early voting, and 312 by absentee.

Democrat: Natalie Tennant received 2,840 votes, with 1,467 coming on election day, 732 by early voting, and 641 by absentee.

Write-In totals: 5, 2 by early voting, and 3 by absentee.

For Auditor:

Republican John “JB” McCuskey received 4,121 votes, with 2,701 coming on election day, 1,036 by early voting, and 384 by absentee.

Democrat: Mary Ann Roebuck Claytor received 1,937 votes, with 881 coming on election day, 506 by early voting, and 550 by absentee.

For Treasurer:

Republican Riley Moore received 3,698 votes, with 2,469 coming on election day, 923 by early voting, and 306 by absentee.

Democrat: John D. Perdue received 2,495 votes, with 1,183 coming on election day, 667 by early voting, and 645 by absentee.

Write-In totals: 2, both on election day.

For Commissioner of Agriculture:

Republican: Kent Leonhardt 4,257 votes, with 2,769 coming on election day, 1,087 by early voting, and 401 by absentee.

Democrat: Bob Beach 1,933 votes, with 902 coming on election day, 503 by early voting, and 528 by absentee.

For Attorney General:

Republican: Patrick Morrisey 3,948 votes, with 2,593 coming on election day, 996 by early voting, and 359 by absentee.

Democrat: Sam Brown Petsonk 2,308 votes, with 1,110 coming on election day, 607 by early voting, and 591 by absentee.

Write-In totals: 3, allon election day.

For State Senator 2nd District:

Republican: Mike Maroney 3,108 votes, with 2,014 coming on election day, 780 by early voting, and 314 by absentee.

Democrat: Josh Gary 3,126 votes, 1,670 coming on election day, 820 by early voting, and 636 by absentee.

Write-In totals: 3, all on election day.

For Member of House of Delegates 5th District:

Republican Phillip Wiley 2,997 votes, with 1,917 coming on election day, 794 by early voting, and 286 by absentee.

Democrat Dave Pethtel 3,448 votes, with 1,904 coming on election day, 860 by early voting, and 684 by absentee.

For County Commissioner:

Democrat: Carla McBee 3,546 votes, with 2,039 coming on election day, 849 by early voting, and 658 by absentee.

Independent: Allen Rush 2,463 votes, with 1,532 coming on election day, 669 by early voting, and 262 by absentee.

For Prosecuting Attorney:

Democrat: Timothy E. Haught 5,400 votes, with 3,222 coming on election day, 1,374 by early voting, and 804 by absentee.

Democrat: Mike Koontz 5,576 votes, with 3,315 coming on election day, 1,406 by early voting, and 855 by absentee.
