Fall Colors Showing up Bright

McEldowney Ave. in New Martinsville looking East at the West Virginia Hills.

Mary Yevuta and Husband John got a good shot of this spectacular display of color overlooking New Martinsville, while out for their daily stroll last week. While most of West Virginia is lit up like a Christmas tree, right here in our own backyard one can view some of the beauty of fall. The above picture was taken along McEldowney Ave. near the high school football field on a cool evening as the sun had just broke through the clouds following a rainy, cloudy mid-fall afternoon.

Other areas of Wetzel and Tyler Counties were shining bright throughout the week. Here is some of that beauty captured along our fields and highways while traveling the past few days. The leaves are changing quick and it won’t be long before the trees are bare. You can still get a glimpse of color in some of the southern counties if you are up to a nice weekend drive. Take the time to enjoy it , do a one day trip through the state, before settling in for what may be a long winter.
