Wetzel County Ham, Bacon And Egg Sale a Success
The 52nd Annual 4-H/ FFA sale, held Friday raised $77,865. The event held at the Wetzel County 4-H grounds Mollahan Center featured ham, bacon and eggs raised by Wetzel County students.
The Grand Champion Ham was exhibited by Matthew Fordyce and was sold to Eric Yost Candidate for Wetzel County Commissioner for $9,720. The Reserve Ham was exhibited by Gunner Stillwagoner and was purchased by Tom Gump of Gumps Poertable Septic Systems for $2,687.50.
The Grand Champion Bacon was exhibited by Samantha Morris and was sold to Scott Lemley Wetzel County Assessor for $3,675. The Reserve Champions Bacon was exhibited by Matthre Fordyce and was sold to Jeremy Shepherd Candidate for Wetzel County Magistrate for $2,400.
The Grand Champion Eggs were exhibited by Gavyn Tedrow, and were purchased by Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home for $2,000. The Reserve Champion Eggs were exhibited by Katherine Henderson and were purchased by Union Bank of Hundred and New Martinsville for $1,800.
The Scholarsip Ham wa donated by Dreaming Big Livestock. It was sold to Wileyville Fire Department for $2,500.
The Scholarship Bacon was donated by Dreaning Big Livestock. It was sold to McDonald’s for $1,600
The Ben Coen Scholaship Jackets were sold to Country Road Ford, and Litman Excavating for $1,700 a piece.
