Rotary Honors Students of the Month
Magnolia High School Students of the month honored by the New Martinsville Rotary Club for December, 2019, are Haley “Hay” Feldmeier of 605 James Satreet, New Martinsville and Kayna Anderson of 15 Neubauer Dr. New Martinsville. Haley is the daughter of Brian and Lisa Feldmeier. Kayna is the daughter of Danny and Anissa Anderson.
Haley has a 4.04 GPA and is President of the senior class. She has also been student body president, student advisory council, drug free club member, sources of strength peer tutoring, cause for paws, Ohio dance masters junior member, secretary-national honr society, sicence national honor society and Mu Alpha Theta.
Haley is also participated in bags od bounty, blood drive coordinator for the American Red Cross, stage manager for Les Miserable competition dancer for 10 years. She was also a member of the 2017 OVAC CHeerleading competition champions and was has been on the varsity cheerleading squad all four years.
She is a member of the lighthouse community church. Her activities and hobbies include Dancing, traveling, watching you-tube, being with friends and family, baby sitting, teaching dance at all-valley, and working at Baristas. She plans on attending West Virginia University and majoring in public health. She received the Moose scholarship and the Promise scholarship.
Kayna has a 4.08 GPA and is ranked seventh in her class. She is Vice President of the senior class and a member of the national honor society. She is also a science National honors society member, along with MuAlpha Theta, Paws for cause club, travel club, senior homecoming queen court.
Her athletic accomplishments include captain of the high school volleyball team, captain of the softball team, captain of the 2018 cheerleading team, member of the 2018 volleyball state, regional and sectional championship team, 2017 OVAC cheer championship, all OVAC acadenic award, 2018 volleyball state all-tournament team, 2017 softball sectional championship team member, special all-state softball 2019, special honorable mention all-state volleyball 2019.
Her community activities include United Methodist Church, student council blood drives, sports fundraising, church Sunday school, sports camps/clinics. Hobbies include playing volleyball and softball, raveling and constructing projects.
She plans to attend West Virginia University and major in biomedical engineering w/anticipation to continue to medical school. She is eligible for the WVU level 2, engineering level 2, and WV promise scholarship.
