Give Gift of Hope To Host Spaghetti Dinner
For the past five years, local student Destiny Harrison has collected donations and gifts to take to Morgantown’s Children’s Hospital along with her classmates through a group she has called “Give a Gift of Hope.”
Harrison reports that this project is one that her and classmates involved have become passionate about. She explained that as a result of the burden of worry parents have for children, it is easy for parents to neglect the joyous holiday. “I believe that every child, every family, and every person should enjoy Christmas – whether they have children struggling or not.”
This year, Harrison and the “Give a Gift of Hope” team will be traveling to the Ronald McDonald House to assist in cleaning, decorating, and cooking a meal for the families and children there.
In addition to this, Harrison and her fellow classmates host various events in an effort to support children. In the month of October, the group hosted a successful soup dinner, which they attributed to the “wonderful community.” Harrison reported that they will again host their annual spaghetti dinner on Sunday, December 8 from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. in the Jesse Brown Hall at Paden City High School. All are invited to come out and support the “Give a Gift of Hope” team as they prepare to serve the children and families at the Ronald McDonald House.
