Just For Kids at RegattaFest
Powerboat racing may be the main attraction during RegattaFest, but kids know that there is a special place on the festival grounds just for them. Known as the Kid’s Zone, it’s a place guaranteed to bring smiles. The space, adjacent to the viewing area in Fireman’s Park will be full of inflatables, games and activities each day from noon to 4 pm. New this year, Color Me Fast program, sponsored by the Wetzel Chronicle, the Tyler Star News and McDonald’s, will give them an opportunity to be creative and there will be autograph posters for the first 50 participants each day.
Jerry Kay Pallisco, Kid’s Entertainment Chairman, assures everyone that the large inflatables will be carefully monitored and that there will be activities for all ages including toddlers. There will be a large supply of crayons, coloring pages, hula hoops, and bubbles to keep the smiles coming. The Wetzel County Sherriff’s Department has promised to stop by and bring their canine officer to meet everyone and learn how this valuable team helps to keep them safe.
Mark your calendars, bring your families and friends, this is your opportunity to see powerboat racing at one of its highest levels, listen to some music, let the kids have fun, relax and enjoy all that RegattaFest has to offer. It all happens September 28-29 in downtown New Martinsville, at Fireman’s Park on the banks of the Ohio River. REGATTAFEST -it’s Fast, it’s Fun, and best of all it’s FREE.
