Wetzel County Circuit Court Session

Stephen Ray Quinn, 31, of 11167 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove, charged by the May, 2019 term of the Wetzel County Grand Jury in a one count indictment of the felony offense of fleeing from an officer in a vehicle.
Entered a guilty plea to the crime before Judge Jeffery D. Cramer in Wetzel County Circuit Court.
Quinn faces up to one to five years in prison and a fine of up to $1000 dollars. He admitted fleeingfrom Deputy Swanberg on Rt 20. in Wetzel County for aproximately four miles while riding an ATV. Quinn was released on probation pending a sentencing hearing to be scheduled following a pre-sentence
Brent Allen Mead, 32, of 109 Jefferson Street, Paden City, was scheduled to be in court for arraignment on a four count indictment handed down by the Wetzel County Grand Jury charging him with the felony offense of child neglect creating risk of injury, and the misdemeanor offenses of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetimine, possession of a controlled substance Marijuana and possession of a controlled substance -subutex. The crimes are alledged to have occurred on February 23, 2019 in Wetzel County. He appeared with out counsel and was given the opportunity to hire an attourney. He is scheduled to return to court on July 26th at 10 a.m. for arraingment.
Joseph Eugene Lasure, 33, of 313 1/2 Fair Street, Middlebourne, was charged with the possession of a controlled substance- methamphetimine on January 17th, 2018. He appeared in the Wetzel County Circuit Court for a status hearing. He is scheduled for a voluntariness hearing that will take place on July 26th at 10 a.m. The trial date will be set at that hearing.
Aaron Freeze, 29, of 117 N 2nd Avenue, Paden City, appeared in court for a status hearing, on a one count felony indictment handed down by ther Wetael County Grand Jury charging him third offense domestic battery. The charge wa alledged to have occurred in Wetzel County on or about November 23, 2018. At the hearing the court accepted a submission of dissmissal orders.
Eric Lawrence Jachimiec, 29, of 7911 W 163rd Place, Tenley Park, IL, is charged with the felony offenses of malicious assault and two counts of wanton endagerment involving a firearm by the Wetzel County Grand Jury in a four count indictment. One count is sealed. The crimes are alledged to have occurred on or about January 23, 2019 in Wetzel County. He appeared in the Wetzel County Circuit court for a satus hearing, where it was determined a trial date needed to be set. Judge Cramer set the trial for August 14th.
Kelsey Nicole Lauderman, 29, of 101 E Madison Street, Paden City, is charged by the Wetzel County Grand Jury in a four count indictment with the felony offense of child neglect creating risk of injury. She also is charged with three misdemeanor offenses of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetimine, possession of a controlled substance- marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance – subutex. She appeared in court for a status hearing.
A possible plea agreement has been reached and Lauderman is set to return to court on July 26, at 10 a.m. for a plea entry.
James Edward Quinn, 64, of 583 Mannington Road, Smithfield, appeared in court alongside his attorney for a status hearing. He is charged by the Wetzel County Grand Jury in a one count felony indictment of failure to update sex registry information – second offense.
The crime is alledged to have occurred between October of 2017, and May of 2018, in Wetzel County by not registaring his 2008 Honda Shadow. Quinn pleaded not guilty to the charge and will return to court July 26, at 10 a.m. for a voluntariness hearing. Quinn’s bond was revoked and he was remanded to jail pending his next hearing.
Coty Walker, 27, of P.O. Box 59, Bruno, W.Va. was handed down two seperate indictments by the May 2019, term of the Wetzel County Grand Jury is charged with a combined total of 33 felonies and three misdemeanors. The charges include four counts of abduction, 11 counts of child abuse creating risk of death or serious bodily injury, seven counts of strangulation, four counts of malicious assault, one count of sexual assault in the first degree, three counts of sexual abuse by a custodian, two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, one count of photographing a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, and three counts of domestic assault.
The charges are alledged to have occurred between September 1, and November 1, of 2018, in Wetzel County. Walker appeared in court alongside his attorney for a status hearing and requested more time. Judge Cramer set a return to court date of September 26th at 9 a.m.
Joshua Eugene Streight, 31, of 214 South Second Avenue, Paden City, charged in a one count felony indictment of Malicious Assault by the Wetzel County Grand Jury appeared in the Wetzel County Circuit Court for a voluntariness hearing. The court was imformed a plea agreement had been reached but more time was needed to work out the details. Judge Cramer set a return to court date for August 7, for the plea.
