Hundred To Celebrate Fourth of July and Town’s Birthday
Hundred will be celebrating a combination of then Fourth of July Celebration plus the the town’s 125 Birthday on Saturday, July 6. There will be a car show at the High School from 12 to 4 with trophies and prizes awarded. Following that, the festivities will begin at 4 at the Town Hall Parking lot (the old state Police Barracks). The parade will be coming down Main Street from the football field starting at 5, and ending at the high school. Festivities include food vendors, crafts, booth games, bingo, corn hole, and the well known Virgil Games in the grassy area. They will also be adding new excitement this year, as there will be an inflatable bouncy house and a dunking booth free of charge.
It was also announced that there will be live music at the stage area. The line up includes Kenlie Huggins/Jacob Allen, followed by Bud Sapp and the Country Sounds Band from 6:30 to 7:30. The headline act of the evening is Barbara Lynn and the Silver Eagles from 7:30-9:30, sponsored by the Wetzel County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Fireworks are scheduled to begin at dusk. It was said that the fireworks will be bigger, better, and longer this year due to a generous contribution to the town. All are invited to come out and join Hundred in the festivities, and help in celebrating the Town of Hundred’s accomplishments. Help share the fun, laughter, food, and amazing fireworks the town is offering.
