Paden City Elementary’s band performed for the annual Spring Concert.

Paden City Elementary School held the annual Spring Concert Tuesday, May 14. During the day, the PreK students from Mrs. Sobataka’s class began the concert by singing “The Star Spangled Banner.” The PCE band – directed by Debra Price – began the evening concert with “Old McDonald had a Band” arranged by Lautzenheiser, followed by “Sakura, Sakura” a Japanese Folk Song. Next was “William Tell Overture” by Rossini, before zesting it up a bit with “Taco’s and Salsa” by Lew Davison. “Swansea Town”, an English Folk Song was next. “Firework” arranged by Michael Story followed, and the concert ended with “Gallant March” by Michael Sweeney.

The choir then performed, directed by Miss Rachel Price. They started with “California Dreamin'” arranged by Emerson, followed by “‘Happiness is'” arranged by John Higgins. A whimsical “Firefly Selection” was next by Andy Beck. The lively tune “Old Dan Tucker” was performed a cappella. The choir ended with a special “Peace by the All County Choir students.” The school thanks all the parents that support their children with their musical talents. A thank you is also issued to Mrs. Debra Price, Miss Rachel Price, and Mr. Brian Price for making those talents shine.
