The Paden City High School Marching Band earned several honors at the Seventh Annual WV Marching Band Invitational Championship!

Awards included First Place Auxiliary, Outstanding Soloist, and First Place Band in Class D, and the Blue Division Grand Champion. The Blue Division consisted of the 19 bands with 50 playing members or less.

Though Paden City was the smallest school participating in the event, they also earned a spot as a Top Five Honor Band among all 36 participants.

Throughout the season the band earned numerous first place awards at the Ripley Viking Fest, Black Walnut Festival, and Patriot Marching Band Festival at Parkersburg South where they also earned Division Two Grand Champions.

The band will complete the marching season with appearances at the Wheeling Festival of Lights Parade and New Martinsville Christmas Parade.

The band also invites the community to join them for their annual Keynote/Christmas Concert to be held on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2:30 p.m. in the Bob and Sharon Burton Gymnasium.

Notably, in 2017 the WV Legislature declared the WV Marching Band Invitational as the official WV marching band championship. Being an invitational, not all bands throughout the state choose to participate.
