Craig Campbell to Headline Town & Country Days’ Friday Line-Up
Country music singer Craig Campbell is excited to be headlining this year’s Town & Country Days on Friday, Aug. 17 beginning at 9 p.m. Campbell said he grew up listening to country music and absolutely loves performing for large crowds.
“I couldn’t imagine doing anything else,” mentioned Campbell. “Nothing else would feel real to me.” Campbell said he has always been musically inclined since his days of playing piano for his church and establishing bands during his teenage years.
Campbell was influenced by the 1990s country music movement, which he feels is the “best era of country music.” He recalled listening to Clint Black, Diamond Rio, and Mark Chestnut; his all-time favorite performer is Travis Tritt. “Tritt could do it all and I am still a huge fan,” expressed Campbell.
Yet, although these musicians inspired Campbell, he said his true inspiration comes from his wife Mindy and daughters Preslee and Kinni Rose.
Campbell said he is excited to be playing in West Virginia and feels we “have some of the best scenery and some of the best country music fans that I’ve come across.”
Campbell has released two acclaimed studio albums, with his most recent release being in June, “See You Try.” In 2010 he made it into the Top 15 of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with his song “Family Man.” He also landed a spot in Country Radio’s Top 10 with “Keep Them Kisses Comin.” Campbell’s recent release includes his first collection of songs in five years. The album includes seven new tracks, including fan favorite “See You Try,” as well as two versions of his classic “Outskirts of Heaven.”
In 2017, Craig Campbell joined Luke Bryan on his “Huntin,’ Fishin,’ and Lovin’ Every Day” tour. Campbell had played keyboards for Bryan before landing his own record deal, which allowed Campbell to start his own tour. Campbell also co-wrote “All American Kid,” featured on Garth Brooks’ last album, “Man Against the Machine.” Campbell added of the above-mentioned, “It was an unbelievable honor to work with such great country musicians.”
Campbell is known as regular performer for the Grand Ole Opry and has even been highly praised for his talents in Rolling Stone Country Magazine. He has also been featured on NBC’s Today and Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular where he sang the American Anthem.
Campbell has also gained some international attention as he was nominated for “International Artist of the Year” at the CMC Music Awards 2017 in Brisbane, Australia. He also joined USO’s star-studded holiday tour which included stops in Turkey, Afghanistan, Germany and Qatar with well known celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans.
Campbell is a national spokesperson for Fight CRC, in honor of his late father, Kenneth Campbell, who passed away from colon cancer. Campbell also hosts the “Campbell Celebrity Cornhole Challenge” in an effort to raise awareness against cancer. So far, Campbell had raised over $450,000 towards cancer research.
Of his Aug. 17 performance, he noted, “I am confident that it will be a great time and I encourage everyone to show.” For more information about Town and Country Days you may visit jpaden.com/tcd/. For more information on Craig Campbell and his tour dates you may visit www.craigcampbell.tv.
