Eureka Midstream Gives To Engineer Energy Kids

Eureka Midstream is supporting Short Line School’s Engineer Energy Kids as they prepare to embark on a trip to Washington D.C. in June for the NEED (National Energy Education Development) Project Youth Awards and Conference. The Engineer Energy Kids have made headlines in the past due to their exemplary performance at NEED Project events. The students are visible throughout the area as they learn about energy and reach out to the community to share their knowledge.
The students are the WV Elementary School of the Year (Grades 4-5) and the NEED Project WV Junior School of the Year (Grades 6-7). Past awards have included the following: West Virginia and National Winners Primary Level (2001), WV Winners Elementary Level (2014), WV and National Winners Elementary Level 2015), WV Winners and National Runner Up Elementary Level (2016), WV Winners Junior Level (2017), and WV Winners and National Runner Up Elementary Level (2017).
The students are advised by Leslie Lively, who will be awarded the Bob Thompson Excellence in Energy Award at the NEED Conference. Several of his students will accompany him to the awards and conference to celebrate the Engineer Energy Kids’ achievements. The cost is $640 for each child to go.
To help donate toward the cost, contact Mr. Lively at Short Line School at 304-386-4115, extension 203. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the students. The first stop is always Arlington Cemetery where the group lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown. They also hope to cruise the Potomatc River and participate in other exciting activities.
