According to the West Virginia State Police, an individual has died as the result of a two vehicle crash in Wetzel County along West Virginia Route 2. The WVSP describes the location as “a construction area located in the area of Proctor.”

The WVSP said the crash involved a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle, and both north and south lanes were stopped for several hours.

WVSP, along with Wetzel County Fire and EMS services, were on scene.

WVSP said the crash remains under investigation, and names of the drivers involved will not be released until notification of next of kin is made.

WVSP said an update would be made a time when the investigation is concluded.
