Wetzel County Makes Strong Showing At FFA Show
Hundred, Magnolia, and Pine Grove’s Future Farmer of America organizations represented Wetzel County well at the West Virginia state Ham, Bacon and Egg Show and Sale.
Hundred High School took home high honors as Cody Soles took home the title for Grand Champion Bacon. Savannah Horner took home the title for Reserve Campion Bacon. Meanwhile, Emily Metz took received third place for bacon; Trevor Kuhn received fifth place for bacon, and Preston Kuhn received sixth place for bacon. Destiny Eastham received 10th place for eggs. Overall, Hundred High School had 15 prime and five choice pieces in the state show.
Magnolia High School also had a strong showing at the state event. Hunter Partridge had a seventh place ham, while Garrett Fox had a seventh place bacon. MHS students exhibiting were Hunter Partridge, Garrett Fox, Devann Fox, Clayton Young, Jared Young, Olivia Yeater, Curtis Tedrow, Ashley Phillips, Kadyn Fluharty, Bayli Fluharty, Morgan Moore, Bailie Fayad, Josh Arrick, Tyler White, Will Akers, and Wyatt Bard.
Logan Bassett, of Pine Grove FFA, received a ninth place prize for his bacon.
