Ryan Yost Announces Candidacy For Council
Ryan Yost
Ryan Yost has announced his candidacy for New Martinsville City Council, Third Ward.
Yost said it has always been a goal of his to serve New Martinsville and its citizens as councilman.
“If I elected, I plan to take off running and go above and beyond for the citizens of New Martinsville. I believe I am the right man for the job.”
Yost said he has encountered some bumps in the road of life, but “I was raised with very strict morals, which include being honest, caring, truthful, respectful and above all, to work my hardest for what is right.”
“As your councilman, I will work my hardest for what is right. I will be accessible day or night, 24/7.”
Yost said he will take no concern lightly and work to resolve issues in a timely manner.
He said he will attend all committee meetings, “including those I am not apart of.”
“So, if something is being brought to a vote, I will know all aspects of it and know what I am voting on.”
Yost, 34, is the son of Earl and Connie Yost.
“Many will remember my mother, because she has probably cut your hair a time or two when she worked at Smart Style inside Walmart.”
“I believe everyone knows my father as the talented artist and man who built the stern-wheel boat all by himself, as well as the owner of Mim’s Gallery.”
Yost married his wife, Chelsea, in 2014. Chelsea is a Property and Casualty Specialist at State Farm in New Martinsville.
“Blessed by God, together we have four wonderful children: Kaylee, Maddox, Hendrix, and Lynnox, another beautiful baby girl who arrived in August of last year.”
Yost has been involved with youth as an employee of the Wetzel County Board of Education, as the Magnolia boys soccer coach.
Yost said being a father and coach has driven him to aspire to be “the best I can possibly be.”
“I want to leave behind the best for future generations, so that one day they can look back on our hard work and follow in our footsteps to continue to improve our wonderful city.”
Yost’s goals include the following: Promote and enhance the town as a destination for new businesses and visitors; encourage a stronger community, and develop the idea of working with local and outside businesses to bring in new places for our youth.
“Together is the only way we can make a change, and all that starts with your vote. I thank you in advance for your support.”
