Barbe Physical Therapy, located in Pine Grove, has recently moved to a new location in town. Previously, the business was located in the downstairs area of the Byrd Center, but has since moved to 778 Alley Addition, right across from the public library. The new facility is very spacious and has equipment that can assist residents with their physical therapy endeavors. The facility is even big enough for walking laps.
Steve Barbe, proprietor of the business, has been practicing physical therapy in the Pine Grove area for about six years. He explained that Barbe Physical Therapy offers several kinds of therapy – physical therapy, music therapy, and animal therapy; the practice is therapeutic for not just the body, but the mind and soul as well.
It’s not uncommon for a dog to wander up and relax next to a willing patient while he or she is exercising. Furthermore, local folks are known to gather on Tuesdays and Wednesdays around 11 a.m. to play folk, bluegrass, and Irish tunes. There are often acoustic guitars, bass guitars, and even violins present at a therapeutic jam session.
Client Diann Lemasters stated, “You get this feeling of Mayberry RFD when you’re here.”
Barbe has two facilities, one located in Pine Grove and another in Burton. This allows for residents of Wetzel County to easily keep up with their physical therapy needs without having to travel into New Martinsville. Also, Barbe Physical Therapy is located near both Hundred and Valley High Schools which is ideal for student athletes who may need to seek therapy. Barbe is in Pine Grove on Tuesdays and Thursdays and in Burton on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. His office opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.
