Magnolia High School is proud to announce the formation of a new club for all pet-loving students called “Cause for Paws.” The club advisors are Ms. Angela Johnson and Mrs. Shelly Lynch – both math teachers at the school. The goal of the club is to raise awareness in the school and the community of the care, safety, protection, and love of all pets. The members have already been in touch with Wetzel County Animal Shelter, and within the first two weeks of the formation of the club, held their first fundraiser for our county’s shelter.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, Busy Beaver in Moundsville held its grand re-opening. Several Cause for Paws club members and both advisors were there selling baked goods, pet toys and pet clothing to raise money for the Wetzel County Animal Shelter. Members also had a pictorial display of animals ready for adoption from the local shelter. Look for the club’s page and “Like It” on Facebook. It is titled “Magnolia’s Cause for Paws.” It showcases pictures of animals ready for adoption at the shelter.
