Paden City Announces Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Paden City has announced its 2017 Valedictorian and Salutatorian – Alexandria Glover and Hayden Hizer.
Alexandria Glover is the daughter of Robert and Susan Postlethwait and Mark and Tricia Glover. She is a dedicated young lady who remains committed to both her academics and extracurricular activities. She is highly involved in community service, and is the vice president of Paden City High School’s Cats Club. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, PCHS Thespian Troupe #4892, and the Wetzel County BOE Student Advisory Council. Alexandria is a color guard member in the Wildcats’ marching band. She also attends, and is a member of, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Alexandria is a recipient of the West Liberty University Presidential Scholarship and the PROMISE Scholarship. Her future plans are to attend West Liberty University this fall to major in theatre performance/education. She is very thankful for the unending support from her family and friends.”
Hayden Nicholas Hizer is the son of Robert and Kimberly Hizer. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Academic Hall of Fame and All Academic OVAC team. Hayden lettered in football, basketball, and baseball all four years, and cross country one year while attending PCHS. Hayden’s football honors include OVAC Honorable Mention, 10th grade; All Mason Dixon Team, 10th grade; All State Honorable Mention, 11th grade; OVAC First Team, 11th grade; All Valley First Team, 12th grade; OVAC First Team, 12th grade; and All State Second Team, 12th grade.
Basketball honors include All Mason Dixon Team, 10th grade; OVAC Second Team, 11th grade, WVHIT tournament MVP, and All State Honorable Mention, 12th grade.
Baseball honors include All State Honorable Mention, 9th grade; OVAC First Team, 9th grade; All State Honorable Mention, 11th grade; and OVAC First Team, 11th grade.
Hayden has signed his letter of intent to play baseball for Ohio Valley University. He plans to study pre physical therapy while attending OVU.
