Annual Celebration Nominees Announced

The Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce is currently organizing it annual celebration event. This year’s nominees for the “Community Celebration Awards,” have been announced, and the deadline to vote is Sunday, April 23.

The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. at the Mollohan Center in New Martinsville. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Reservations for the event are required, and are being accepted.

To pay by credit card, via PayPal, call the office at 304-455-3825. Cost for chamber members is $25, and cost for non-members is $30. Payment is non-refundable.

Nominees for Business Owner of the Year:

Frances Headley, Mountain Maids and Men; Linda Henricksen, The Olive Branch and Friends Shops; Jim King, King’s Corner and King’s Blingz; and James Crow and Chris Murden, CAM Safety

Nominees for Employee of the Year:

Billie Zimmerman, New Martinsville Police Department; Cendy Lewis, Genesis Healthcare-Sistersville Center

Nominees for Professional of the Year:

Larry Tackett, West Virginia Northern Community College; Chief Tim Cecil, New Martinsville Police Department; and Rev. Dr. Victor L. Hunter (First Christian Church)

Nominees for Educator of the Year:

Mark Goldestein, West Virginia Northern Community College; Dan Henthorn, Magnolia High School; and Jennifer Haught, SOLSD River Elementary
