Chamber Encourages Christmas Decorating

The Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce is holdings its second annual Christmas Residential and Commercial Decorating Contest!

Deadline to enter is Dec. 6.

All judging will take place Dec. 9-14. Participants are encouraged to have decor activated during those dates and between the hours of 5-10 p.m. Individual judging locations and times will not be scheduled.

Also, only decorations that can be viewed from the street will be judged, including lights and decorations that can be seen through front windows.

Entry fee for commercial judging is $10. Commercial properties will be judged if located in Tyler and Wetzel counties in West Virginia and Monroe County in Ohio, along Route 7. One overall winner will receive top prize.

Residential entry fee is $5, and properties will be judged in the same areas as commercial properties.

One overall winner will receive top prize, and each subcategory will have an honorable mention winner and $25 Chamber Community Cash.

Subcategories are as follows: Religious, Nostalgic, Martha Stewart “Simply Elegant,” Clark Griswold “Christmas Vacation,” and General.

Winners will be announced Dec. 15 at Riggenbach Tile and Carpet Business After Hours/Christmas Party.
