It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas Well, at least it is at New Martinsville City Building where the main hallway is decorated with Christmas trees galore.

These trees are decorated by local businesses and organizations and will be auctioned off Friday, Nov. 18 during the Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce’s second annual Festival of Trees event.

The event will feature an auction of the trees, an ugly sweater contest, 50/50 drawing, silent auction, and door prizes. “Dugger” will be the DJ for the dance!

Perhaps most entertaining though is the gift that will be bestowed upon all guests if 100 people attend the event Chamber President Don Riggenbach will kiss a pig! Cost is $15 per person.

All of this is in good fun and for a good cause however, as all proceeds from the event, including proceeds from the tree auction, will be donated to three local charitable organizations – The Gabriel Project, Olive Branch Animal Rescue, and Lighthouse Child Advocacy Center.

Due to the charitable nature of the event, attendees are encouraged to bring a snack for their table, and for the share table if desired. The Chamber itself will provide a setup of Coke, Sprite, and ice.

The event is informal, and tickets can be purchased at the chamber office, at the event door, or online. Tickets purchased online will include Pay Pal transaction fee.
