Queen To Be Crowned Oct. 21

Valley High School will crown its homecoming queen on Oct. 21 during pre-game ceremonies, at 7 pm. The game time is 7:30 p.m. when Valley will take on Doddridge.

Senior candidate Rachel Baker is the daughter of Keith and Pennie Baker of Reader. Rachel is a member of National Honor Society, a 3 year letterman of the volleyball team, basketball team and cheerleading team. She is also a four-year letterman of track. She plans to attend Fairmont State University in the fall majoring in education.

Senior candidate Kira Fetty is the daughter of Mark Fetty and Scarlet Deuter of Porters Falls. Kira is a member of National Honor Society, French Honor Society and archery club. She plans to attend West Liberty University in the fall majoring in psychology.

Senior candidate Melanie Thomas is the daughter of Brian and Tracy Thomas of New Martinsville. Melanie is a member of National Honor Society, a four-year letterman of basketball and FFA. She plans to attend Scott’s College of Cosmetology in the fall and become a cosmetologist.

Senior candidate Cassidy West is the daughter of Jim West of New Martinsville and Levaun West of Reader. Cassidy is a member of National Honor Society, a four-year letterman in basketball, a three-year letterman in volleyball and she participated in softball for two years. In the fall, she plans major in education.

The 2016 homecoming queen will be crowned by 2015 queen, Madison Arnolds. Madison daughter of Dave and Jill Arnolds of Jacksonburg. Madison is a Freshman at Fairmont State University majoring in elementary education. Madison will be escorted by crown bearer Cooper Mullett, grandson of Bobby and Tina Dallison Throckmorton and Mark Mullett all of New Martinsville. She will also be escorted by Jayla. Jayla is the daughter of Clay and Tomasina Dallison of Fallen Timber.

Junior Princess is Tessa Dudgeon daughter of Dale and Tammy Dudgeon of Pine Grove. Tessa is a member of the basketball team, softball team, volleyball team and cheerleading team. After high school, she plans to college.

Sophomore Princess is Hailey Baker, daughter of Michael and Crystal Baker of Pricetown. Hailey is a member band, basketball team, tack team and participates in theater. She plans to pursue a degree in criminal justice after high school.

Freshman Princess is Emma Beatty daughter of Tara Beatty of Pine Grove. Emma is active in TSA, Choir and philosophy club. She plans to go to college to become an Animal Behaviorist.
