Labor Day Festivities Set For Weekend

Paden City’s annual Labor Day Weekend festivities will be begin Friday, Sept. 2, with opening ceremonies set for 6 p.m.

Pete Lauderman and John Jones will kick-off the musical entertainment portion of the event at 6:15 p.m., followed by Monkey Farm at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday’s musical entertainment features Crossroads, 2 p.m.; Half Cracked, 4 p.m.; and Mars Alley, 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 4, will feature Shelly Champion Blakenship, 1 p.m.; Beacon Road, 2:30 p.m.; Days Later, 5 p.m.; and The Remedy, 8 p.m.

Labor Day itself will kick-off with a Fun Run at 8 a.m. The annual parade will take place at 1 p.m., followed by a star-studded entertainment line-up. This will include One-A-Chord, 2 p.m.; DeWayne Spaw, 5 p.m; and Jimmy Fortune, 7:30 p.m.

Other Labor Day festivities include Fun Factory inflatables, duck pond, dime pitch, crafters, and ice cream.

Wagon rides will be held Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Entertainment and parking are free.

The Paden City Volunteer Fire department Fish Fry will be available Sunday, 1-6 p.m. and Monday, 2-6 p.m., with an all-you-can-eat breakfast Monday, from 8 a.m. until noon.

The Fire Department concession trailer and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #86 will also have food all three days.
