P.C. Labor Day Committee Receives Donations
The Paden City Labor Day Committee received two greatly appreciated donations Friday, Aug. 19. Donations came from Gold, Khourey & Turak and the Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler Central Labor Union.
Paden City will be holding its 68th Annual Labor Day Celebration on Sept. 2-5 at the Paden City Park. The family-oriented event will offer a fun factory for children (free on Friday evening) and entertainment for adults, as well such as live music. There will be performances each evening with former Statler Brother, Jimmy Fortune, headlining on Monday. The parking is free; the entertainment is free, and all you need to bring is a lawn chair. There will be a fish fry, held by the Paden City Fire Department, on Sunday from 1-6 p.m. and Monday 2-6 p.m. An all-you-can-eat breakfast will also be available on Monday from 8 a.m. until noon. The fire department’s concession trailer American Legion Auxiliary Unit 86 will also provide food for the event.
The Paden City Labor Day festivities were originally established to honor the lives of those who have worked to make the area a better place.
In order to help continue this honor, the festival’s committee may need some help. Any contributions and donations would be greatly appreciated in an effort to make another successful year.
All donations can be sent to Wesbanco of Paden City or mailed to: The Paden City Labor Day Celebration, P.O. Box 34, Paden City, WV 26159. You may contact Susan Wade at 304-771-1574 or Judy Ferrebee at 304-771-3925 if you have any questions.
