Retirees Honored at Board Meeting
Ten retirees with a total of 274 years of experience were honored at the Monday, June 6 meeting of the Wetzel County Board of Education. Wetzel County Schools’ Secretary Jo Beth Simmons remarked that it was her honor to get to recognize the retirees.
“I cannot say how much you are appreciated. Your dedication to Wetzel County Schools has greatly been appreciated throughout these years and will forever be remembered and treasured,” Simmons said.
The following retirees were honored:
James G. Dieffenbauch retired last summer from county maintenance as a carpenter/plumber with 35 years of experience.
Linda M. Fonner is retiring with 36 years of experience. She retired as a fifth grade science teacher at New Martinsville School.
Deborah K. Rothacher retired at the end of December as a biology teacher at Magnolia High School with 29 years of experience.
Sheldon R. Ruckman retired in January as a science teacher at Paden City High School with 30 years of experience.
Carol L. Tallman has 36 years of experience and is retiring as a fifth grade teacher.
Robert J. Yeater has 37 years of experience and is retiring as assistant superintendent of schools.
John M. Boswell retired at the end of December as a bus operator with three of experience.
Star B. Briggs is retiring as coordinator of special education programs. She has 42 years of experience.
Frederick B. Eller retired last October as a custodian at New Martinsville School with 10 years of experience.
Nancy J. Raper is retiring as a kindergarten assistant teacher at Paden City Elementary School with 16 years of experience.
