Hundred High School Seniors Graduate

Andrew King

Hundred High School had four top scholars leading its Class of 2016 during commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 14. Valedictorians were Andrew King, Meliah Umstead, and Emily Rine. Salutatorian was Holden Moore.

Andrew King, of Littleton, is the son of Paul and Lisa Huston of Littleton.

Andrew has participated in science bowl and quiz bowl all four years of high school. He was a National Honor Society member for two years and served on the student council for three years. Andrew was the 2015-2016 student body president and also attended HOBY.

He was on the football team for three years, basketball team for four years, and ran track for two years.

Andrew attended the United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar and is a United States Attorney’s Office Ambassador for Justice.

Meliah Umstead

Andrew’s future plans involve attending West Virginia University for undergraduate studies and going on to law school.

Meliah Umstead is the daughter of Rhonda Evans and William Kuhn.

Her high school activities included volleyball, basketball, track, softball, cheerleading, theatre, FFA, and TSA.

She also participated in the student council, RAZE, the Governor’s Honors Academy, and YoungLife.

Meliah’s future plans include attending WVU to major in Biology and then going on to medical school.

Emily Rine

Emily Marie Rine, of Hundred, is the daughter of Lisa Marie Rine and Charles Adam Rine.

Emily hopes to attend Fairmont State University where she hopes to get her associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing.

Emily hopes to eventually become employed at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Salutatorian Holden Moore is the son of Randy and Janet Moore.

He is a four-year basketball and track letterman, has served as president for both National Honor Society and Future Farmers of America, and has served as senior class president.

Holden is majoring in National Security and Intelligence, and Political Science at Fairmont State University.
