Christen Apprehended by Law Enforcement
Feb. 25, 8:30 p.m. –
According to the New Martinsville Police Department, David Shawn Christen has been taken into custody.
Via its Facebook page, the NMPD announced that it had assisted Wetzel County Sheriff’s Office and the West Virginia State Police in apprehending Christen earlier this evening (Thursday, Feb. 25).
Christen was reportedly at a local residence and was apprehended without incident.
According to a statement by the U.S. Marshals, NMPD had received a tip on Christen’s location “due to his recent news profile.” The information led officers to Christen’s mother’s house in New Martinsville.
In its release, NMPD reported that law enforcement wished to thank the public for its assistance in the matter.
Feb. 24 –
David Shawn Christen, 32, is currently wanted by the U.S. Marshals and is believed to be in the New Martinsville area. According to the U.S. Marshals, Christen is considered armed and dangerous.
Christen is 6 foot tall white male, weighs 180 pounds, has blue eyes, and blonde or strawberry blonde hair.
Christen is wanted for a parole violation. His original charge was for delivery of a controlled substance.

In July 2013 Christen was sentenced to one to 15 years in the West Virginia Penitentiary for Men after admitting he had violated the rules of home confinement by consuming controlled substances that were not prescribed to him.
Christen pleaded guilty February 6, 2013 in Wetzel County Circuit Court to the felony offense of delivery of oxycodone.
