Sing to Be Held For Amos
The Paden City Christian Church would like to invite everyone to an inspirational sing on Nov. 12th at 7:00 PM at the Paden City Christian Church to honor a long time member of our congregation, Jim Amos, with an old time gospel sing. Featuring churches from the surrounding area.
In January 2014 Jim and Shirley Amos were enjoying their retirement (from Mobay) in Florida. When during a morning walk with friends, an out of control truck struck Jim and his friends along side of the road. Jim suffered a broken leg and spent several months in a cast and in therapy. After returning home to Paden City Jim began physical therapy and made some progress, but back problems persisted. So in November 2014 back surgery was performed in Pittsburgh. In March 2015 Jim was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Since that time his health has deteriorated and he is now in a motorized wheelchair. But his faith in God and love for music has not wavered.
Recently a group from the Paden City Christian Church gathered in Jim and Shirley’s home to sing praises to God, what a blessing we received as Jim sang with us all of the songs and never missed a beat. Tears were shed and Jim made a request of our church that we have an Area Wide Gospel Sing and invite every church in New Martinsville, Paden City, Sistersville and the surrounding area, and together we could sing the old hymns and sing praises to our Lord and Savior. Plans have been made, churches have been contacted and we are looking forward to the participation of all the area churches and some good old fashion music
Please come and enjoy the music with Jim at the Paden City Christian Church at 105 E. Main street, Paden City (Behind the Dollar Store)
