Hundred Relay For Life Friday

Hundred’s second annual relay for life will be held 5-11 p.m., June 27 at Hundred’s Cosgray Field. The event will feature food, drinks, games, and music. This year’s theme is “Hundred is 100 percent”

“I’m just hoping for a good turnout and a good time,” states Rose Teagarden, this year’s chairperson for the event.

Cancer survivors who are interested in being recognized and receiving a free t-shirt are encouraged to contact Rose Teagarden at 304-775-3368, Jo Ann Seckman at 304-775-5061, or Vince Tustin at 304-775-4250. Teagarden and Seckman can also be contacted in regards to purchasing luminaries, which will be lit the night of the Relay.

Games and entry fees include “Pack A Car,” $15 a team; cornhole tournament, $10; and egg Roulette, $1.

The winner of Little Miss Relay and Mr. Relay Contest is based on collected donations. There is no entry fee. Those interested in entering need to bring a purse or something that can be used to collect money.

The “bubble man” Danny Westfall made an appearance at the Wetzel County Relay for Life to offer kids of all ages the chance to make bubbles.

A Chinese auction will also be held that evening.

Meals will include roasted chicken meal, with noodles and mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuit; chicken noodle deep dish dinner, black angus burgers, hot dogs, and chips. Drinks include pop, water, coffee, and hot chocolate. Dirt dessert and popsicles will also be available.
