Voting For Chamber Awards Ends Saturday

The Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce is currently taking votes for their 2015 Community Awards.

Various people and businesses in the community were previously nominated in eight categories. The pool was narrowed down to specific nominees and now the community can vote online at www.wetzelcountychamber.com/announcements/wetzel-county-chamber-of-commerce-awards-dinner-april-28-2015 for their choices. But hurry, as voting ends April 18.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner to be held April 28, 6 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the Chamber 304-455-3825.

The nominees are as follows. (Further descriptions can be found on the voting link above.)

Business: Academy for Dance and Theatre Arts (ADTA), Bruce Bowling Lanes, Sprouse Windows and Doors

Business owner: Dawn Dembrosky, All Valley School of Dance; Erick Hernandez, Azteca; Brian Rogers, The Supply Closet

Citizen/volunteer: Carmen and Larry Tustin, and Betsy Westfall

Civic organization: Cruisers Unlimited, Inc.; Open Door Ministries; Wetzel County Humane Society

Educator: Holly Cain, a math teacher at Magnolia High School; Michelle Moore, a math teacher at Valley High School; Kim Sobataka, special needs preschool teacher countywide, currently a Universal Preschool Teacher at Wetzel County Center for Children and Families

Employee: Sherry Duke, secretary at Wellspring Family Services in New Martinsville; Debbie Mason, New Martinsville Public Library; Sharon Thomas, business manager for the Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce

Professional: Matthew Wagoner, Jamie Long

Youth leadership: Brandi Buchanan, Magnolia High School; Sabrina Currie, homeschooled in New Martinsville; Brooklynn McCaslin, Valley High School; Megan Pierce, Paden City High School; Caleb Singer, Hundred High School; Courtney Slider, Magnolia High School; Brianna Young, Magnolia High School.
