Easter Activities Slated

Easter is upon us and local residents are reminded of several noteworthy events to celebrate the season.

-April 2, 7:30 p.m., The Last Supper re-enactment outside the First Church of God, 255 Russell Avenue (near Wal-Mart), New Martinsville.

-April 3, 11:45 a.m., Cross Walk from St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in New Martinsville down Hydro Drive to the First Church of God, 255 Russell Avenue (near Wal-Mart) for a service.

-April 3-4 there will be a prayer vigil. It will start after the Cross Walk service and continue until Saturday at noon at the First Church of God, 255 Russell Avenue (near Wal-Mart).

-April 3, 7 p.m., he Paden City Ministerial Association has organized a Good Friday service at the First Christian Church in Paden City. Pastor Mark Tennant of the Paden City Wesleyan Church will bring the message, with other area pastors sharing in the service. Pastor Jeff White is the host pastor.

-April 4, 11 a.m., sharp, New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department and Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union will hold an Easter Egg Hunt at Bruce Park in New Martinsville (kids 10 and under). The Easter Bunny will also be at the park.

-April 4, 11 a.m., the Paden City Church of the Nazarene will be hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt at Paden City Park.

-April 5, 6:30 a.m., a Sunrise Service, at the First Church of God, 255 Russell Avenue (near Wal-Mart). Sharletta Green of the NMUMC will be the speaker. It will be followed by breakfast.

-April 5, 8 a.m., Paden City Ministerial Association Easter Sunrise service at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City. Pastor Judy Vetter, the host pastor, will bring the message, with other area pastors taking part in the service. A continental breakfast will be available in the Methodist Church fellowship hall following the service.
