Pine Grove Puts Up Decorations
While not much business was conducted during a 10-minute meeting of Pine Grove Town Council on Monday evening, they did note that a couple more lighted Christmas decorations were to be put on utility poles on Tuesday morning.
The town does not have very many working decorations.
“When they took them down last year, they destroyed them,” Recorder Kimmy Bates said.
Mayor Roy Justice added, “They’ve been told not to do that anymore.”
Also noted was that there will not be a Christmas parade in Pine Grove this year. No one volunteered to head up the annual tradition.
On a final note, Councilman Randy Street, who chairs the parks committee, noted the Pine Grove Park Committee will be hosting a chicken roast Sunday, Dec. 14,, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Valley High School in the commons area. The chickens will be prepared by the Valley High School Agricultural Education department.
The menu includes half chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, roll, dessert, and drink. The cost is $8 for the meal, and carry out is available.
Whole chickens can also be purchased for carry out with no sides for $8 each.
Delivery is available in the local area. Call 304-266-8654. Proceeds benefit new playground equipment for the Pine Grove Park.
