Tyler Board of Ed approves requests

Tyler Board of Education Members approved the following requests on Monday at their regularly scheduled meeting.

Trip requests: Maggie Fisher was given permission to take members of the TCHS Archery Club to the Harvest Festival on Oct. 3 to demonstrate for the elementary school students. Transportation to be provided by Fisher and parents of students.

Linda Duncan was given permission for Super Teens Achieving Regional Success to attend the Stars Leadership Training on Sept. 30, at the Ritchie County 4-H campgrounds in Harrisville, with bus for transportation. She was also approved for Emma Rucker as a chaperone for the trip.

Amanda Kimble, director of support services, was approved for eligible AIB Elementary fourth and fifth grade students to travel to Sistersville Elementary School on Dec. 11 to participate in the 2014-15 Tyler County Math Field Day Event, with bus for transportation.

Other requests: Brian and Lisa Goddard were approved for their children, Mariah, Brianne, and Emili Goddard, to cross county lines in order to continue attending Tyler County Schools for the 2014-15 school year, pending approval from Wetzel County Board of Education.

Julie and Terry Gump were approved for their children, Levi and Lincoln Gump, to be released from Tyler County Schools for the 2014-15 school year, in order to attend Wetzel County Schools.

Shelly West was approved for her son, Mason West, to cross county lines in order to continue attending Tyler County Schools for the 2014-15 school year, pending approval from Wetzel County Board of Education.

Michael Doyle was approved for his daughter, Michele, to be released from Tyler County Schools for the 2014-15 school year, pending approval from Wetzel County Board of Education.

Michele Ebert was approved to use the SES cafeteria and science lab to hold Girl Scout meetings one day a month through May 2015.

Jill Ash was approved to use the SES cafeteria and gymnasium to hold Girl Scout Daisies meetings one day a month through May 2015.

Employments and transfers: Alan Hamrick was approved for employment as half-time Alternative Learning Teacher at AIB.

Patrick Shepherd was approved for employment as a bus operator, Bus Route #1, effective Sept. 30.

Rob Schupbach was approved for transfer from half-time long-term substitute for alternative education to full-time Kindergarten teacher as initiated by Tricia Feldmeier, principal at Arthur I. Boreman Elementary School, and in accordance with West Virginia Code 18A-4-7 a (u).

This transfer was by mutual consent with Schupbach, Feldmeier, and approved by Robin Daquilante, superintendent.
