PC Boosters Present Plan For Changes

By Staff | Jun 18, 2014

Jon Baker and Kelly Schultheis with the Paden City Wildcat Boosters Association spoke to the Wetzel County Board of Education Monday.

Baker and Schultheis discussed the boosters’ current financial situation and provided the board with a handout with some of the group’s 2014-2015 fundraising ideas. These ideas include moving Bingo to one night per month with guaranteed cash payouts, a steak fry in the fall, pancake dinners, chicken and mashed potato dinners one night at Town & Country Days, a bike night, a poker run in September, and rental of the building for various events.

The boosters noted at Monday night’s meeting that they feel as if they have not been supporting the high school as they should and want to reconnect with the school and build community faith. Baker requested a short term commitment for financial assistance. Board President Mike Blair stated that before the board can make a decision, he would request that Board Treasurer Jeff Lancaster do an audit of the association’s books, then the board would proceed from there.

In another matter, Monday night’s meeting was the last with Board Member Bill Aberegg. President Blair presented Aberegg with a plaque and thanked him for his service.
