Charkawi, Hickman Lead PCHS Grads

Valedictorian Myah Charkawi
The Class of 2014 at Paden City High School was led by Valedictorian Myah Charkawi and Salutatorian Jenny Hickman during their graduation ceremony held May 24.
Charkawi is the daughter of Cathy and Chuck Boggs. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Body Vice-President, Senior Class Vice-President, and member of the cheerleading squad, volleyball, softball, and girls basketball teams.
Myah earned All-State honors in volleyball, softball, and basketball. She was the recipient of the OVAC-WesBanco Scholarship, Promise Scholarship, American Legion Best All-Around Girl award, Erika Hank Bennett Memorial Scholarship, and a full scholarship to West Virginia Northern Community College where she will pursue a degree in Health Information Technology and Business Management.
Hickman is the daughter of Brian and Cherie Hickman. She has served as president of both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, been a member of Venturing and Student Council, and played on the PCHS softball team. Jenny is also a deaconess of the New Martinsville First Baptist Church.
She was named Chemistry Student of the Year, received the TCP Outstanding Community Service Award and Peoples’ Bank Academic Achievement Award, achieved multiple spots on Paden City High School Principal’s List, and named on the West Virginia Northern Community College Merit List. Further, she was a High School Business Completer.

Salutatorian Jenny Hickman
Jenny’s future plans are to attend West Liberty University and achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.
