The day was cold and rainy, but area pro-life advocates laced up their tennis shoes on May 3 for the annual Wetzel/Tyler Walk for Life walk, which began at New Martinsville’s city building and ended at Bruce Park. The yearly tradition brought in approximately $1,400 which will be donated to Woman’s Choice Pregnancy Resource Center, located in Charleston, W.Va. Phil Chatting of the center spoke to walkers in attendance during a rally which was held after the walk.

Woman’s Choice Pregnancy Resource Center is located right beside an abortion clinic, where approximately 25 abortions take place per week, according to Chatting. Furthermore, Chatting stated that some women headed to the abortion clinic to have the procedure have accidentally come to his center, where they end up having a change of heart.

Woman’s Choice Pregnancy Resource Center offers free pregnancy tests, free and confidential counseling, information on abortion risks, adoption information and referrals, sexual integrity options, parenting training and information, referrals to community resources, free maternity and baby items, and post-abortion counseling. The center also hopes to offer free non-diagnostic ultrasounds soon.

The center is always in search of volunteers, donated items, and donated funds. To contact the center call 304-346-9779.
