Beegle Arrested For Marijuana
Dean Beegle
Dean Allen Beegle, 43, of 722 Fifth Street, New Martinsville, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver after Wetzel County Sheriff’s Department discovered the Schedule I controlled substance along with “extensive” drug paraphernalia at his residence.
The Wetzel County Magistrate office’s report on Beegle states that on May 15, Wetzel County Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Adams executed a search warrant at Beegle’s residence. Adams, along with Chief Deputy Mike Koontz, Deputies Eric Daugherty and Dave Howell, and New Martinsville Police Department Sgt. Friend Estep found one glass jar and three plastic bags “containing what looked and smelled like marijuana.” The report notes that the total contents of the jar, along with three plastic bags, were approximately 60 grams. One set of scales, grinders, rolling papers, one large bong, and other smoking devices were also found. Numerous containers with reside inside that looked and smelled like marijuana were also found.
The report states that a copy of the search warrant and property receipt were left inside Beegle’s residence, as he was not present during the search.
He was arrested during a traffic stop the next day.
Beegle was arraigned via video on May 17; bond was set at $10,000 cash.
Koontz noted that the warrant was obtained as part of an investigation conducted by Adams and Howell. It was initiated by people in the neighborhood noticing suspicious activity at the house. He encourages anyone who might have a tip to a potential crime to call him at the Wetzel County Sheriff’s Office, 304-455-8231.
“If people would be more willing to give us information we could probably get a lot more accomplished,” noted Koontz.
