Christopher Lee Leek

Christopher Lee Leek, 27, of 33 Ross Street, New Martinsville, was charged on April 11 with possession with intent to deliver a Schedule I controlled substance. Leek waived his preliminary hearing on April 21 and remains in the Northern Regional Jail on $30,000 bond.

On April 11, Leek was stopped by New Martinsville Police Chief Tim Cecil. Suspected bath salts were found in possession of Leek, and after being mirandized Leek admitted that he had a package of “fake pot.” A search warrant was obtained and two plastic containers of bath salts were found, along with two black foil packages of Bizarro Zencense.

Leek’s arrest stems from an ongoing investigation involving $2,100 worth of bath salts that have allegedly been delivered through the mail to the New Martinsville Post Office.

Chief Cecil stated that two of the packages of bath salts were addressed to an individual who claims they have no involvement in the matter.

Cecil stated the investigation is ongoing and involves New Martinsville Police Department, New Martinsville Post Office, and Wetzel County’s Prosecutor’s Office.
