Nelda K. White, 54, of Hundred, has been charged by the federal grand jury in Wheeling with conspiracy to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. White faces up to five years in prison on each of these charges.

Furthermore, the U.S. Attorney’s Office is seeking to forfeit $23,500 which was seized in January as part of the investigation.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II, announced Monday that five indictments naming seven defendants were returned by the federal grand jury.

Of the charges against White, Wetzel County Prosecuting Attorney Timothy Haught stated that the woman was receiving large quantities of marijuana via UPS or Fed Ex.

Haught further commended the Hundred State Police, in cooperation with the West Virginia State Police’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations, for their hard work investigating the case.

Furthermore, Haught stated that Ihlenfeld has “done a great job.” He also credited Ihlenfeld with reaching out to prosecutors throughout the state. “He’s not just prosecuting cases coming out of Wheeling. He’s prosecuting cases out of Marshall . . . out of Wetzel, and that does help us.”
