The following matters were approved at the March 11 meeting of the Wetzel County Board of Education:

Extracurricular:

Perry D. Bucher, approval for employment as assistant baseball coach at Valley High School, effective March 12, non-certified.

Jeffrey E. Derby, approval for employment as head girls’ basketball coach at Valley High School, effective the beginning of the 2014-2015 WVSSAC Season.

Michael S. Pierce, approval for employment as assistant girls’ track coach at Paden City High School, effective the beginning of the 2013-2014 WVSSAC season.

Rescindments for 2014-2015 School Year:

Joe O. Flesher, approval for change in assignment from the Transfer List to evening custodian, 228-day contract (683/C), at New Martinsville School.

Therese A. Headley, approval for change in assignment from the Transfer List to evening custodian, 228-day contract (683/C), at New Martinsville School.

Also, the board will finally have a student expulsion hearing March 18, 7 p.m., that was originally set for March 4. This is the second time it was rescheduled, as it was also continued from March 11.
