Three Wetzel County students were expelled March 4 after a series of expulsion hearings at a special meeting of the Wetzel County Board of Education.

Four hearings were set to be held. However, “Student/Case (B)” was unrepresented by counsel and granted a continuance to the expulsion hearing, to be held at a Special Meeting March 11, 5 p.m., after this edition of the Wetzel Chronicle went to press. The other three students (identified as A, C, and D) were all expelled for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year, as the board voted to uphold the superintendent’s recommendations.

The board was represented in each case by Timothy Haught, Wetzel County Prosecuting Attorney.
