The Wetzel County Commission Feb. 4 signed an agreement with AirEvac to provide free emergency helicopter service to 16,500 Wetzel County residents at an annual cost of $98,000 a year. The agreement covers air ambulance service to residents with a life-threatening illness or injury, from Wetzel or any other county covered by a similar agreement with AirEvac.

“This is an effort to give back to county residents by providing an important service to a rural population,” said Lemon. (Photo by Bill Abraham)
