Annual Senior Cantata Will Feature Needhams

By Staff | Dec 18, 2013

The Wetzel County Committee on Aging will hold their annual Christmas Cantata Dec. 22, 2 p.m., at the Lewis Wetzel Family Center.

This year’s entertainment will feature the Needhams along with New Martinsville’s own Sean Maxwell.

“We want to get back to what this holiday season truly means with this year’s show,” said WCCOA Director Mary Ash. “So many times we focus on the decorations and the gifts that we forget about the most important thing. The gift of love…..it was demonstrated so many years ago in a manger. So this holiday season we want to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas by getting back to the basics.

“I was reminded about the Charlie Brown Christmas show and when he does not have much luck with the tree, or the program is not going just right, Linus reminds Charlie Brown what Christmas is really about,” she continued. “So this holiday we would like to focus on those that need a little hope. Will you help us celebrate?”

There is no charge for the event, but they do ask those that attend to bring a non-perishable food item or make a monetary donation to help the local area. There are so many that need a bright light with the closure of Ormet and other heartaches in the valley, that it is important to help one another.

If you need a ride or additional information please do not hesitate to contact the Wetzel County Committee on Aging at 304-455-3220. Come join in celebrating life.
