Perry Riley Pingley, 45, of P.O. Box 147 Jacksonburg, was sentenced today to 20-40 years in the West Virginia Penitentiary for Men.

Pingley pleaded guilty to two information counts of sexual abuse by a parent in Wetzel County Circuit Court. For each charge, Pingley was sentenced to 10-20 years. These two sentences are to run consecutively.

Wetzel County Prosecuting Attorney Timothy Haught reported that Pingley’s effective prison sentence will basically be 20 years, due to receiving credit for “good time” in prison.

If Pingley is released after 20 years, he will be placed on supervised release for 25 years. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Special Prosecuting Attorney Carl Worthy Paul prosecuted this case.
