Cozart Gives Shelter Report
Rosy Cozart of Wetzel County Animal Shelter visited Wetzel County Commission last week with an update regarding the shelter. The following are the statistics from May 1 to June 3: dogs euthanized, one; cats euthanized, none; dogs adopted, three; cats adopted, none; dogs to rescue, three; cats to rescue, 18; dogs returned to owner, one; cats returned to owner, none; dogs taken in, 17; cats taken in, 10; dogs in approval/foster, one; and cats in approval/foster, five. There were no impounds or quarantines during this time.
The following are the statistics from June 4 to July 2: dogs euthanized, none; cats euthanized, none; dogs adopted, two; cats adopted, none; dogs to rescue, 18; cats to rescue, 10; dogs returned to owner, one; cats returned to owner, none; dogs taken in, 27; cats taken in, 13; dogs in approval/foster, three; and cats in approval/foster, four. There were no impounds or quarantines this month either.
The following are statistics from July 3 to July 31: dogs euthanized, four; cats euthanized, one; dogs adopted, three; cats adopted, none; dogs to rescue, 10; cats to rescue, none; dogs returned to owner, two; cats returned to owner, one; dogs taken in, 32; cats taken in, 10; dogs in approval/foster, four; and cats in approval/foster, nine. There were no impounds or quarantines.
